  • Recently in the news to create KAI, Kwalee is now betting on Hybrid Casual games after feeling the brunt of higher CPIs and lower ECPMs affecting monetizing Hyper Casual games. Their press release quotes, "Hyper Casual Isn't Dead - It's Just Overworked".

  • Final Fantasy franchise owner Square Enix is set to merge its game development subsidiaries Luminous Productions and Square Enix to bolster its HD game development capabilities. Read more in their press release.

  • MOBA leader League of Legends: Wild Rift releases a new patch with new characters, skins and a change of tanks! Who doesn't love tanks?

  • Netease diversifies into Japanese culture-influenced games by investing in Studio Flare, set up by Toshinori Aoki and Toshimichi Mori.

  • Low Code game building platform Yahaha Studios creates 80 games in 24 hours in Global Game Jam (GGJ)—more in their press release.

  • Game Connection 2023 is coming up soon in San Francisco on 20-21st March.
